Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes to produce high-quality components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC lathes to machine parts to exact specifications.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job.
Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work area.
Follow all safety and quality protocols.
Essential Skills
Experience in lathe setup and operation, especially with dual spindle CNC lathes.
Proficiency in Fanuc controls and CAD/CAM programming.
Ability to hold a tolerance of +/- 2/100ths.
Experience working with hardened metals such as Inconel and Titanium.
Strong blueprint reading and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with grinding.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining preferred.
2–5 years of experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T.
Familiarity with G-code and CNC programming (experience with both Fanuc and Haas controls is a plus).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with multi-axis lathes or live tooling is preferred.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
