Positions Assigned
This position may be assigned to a variety of service positions throughout WVUH, including Material Handling Attendant, Equipment Handling Attendant, Housekeeping Assistant, Dietetic Assistant, Support Associate, and Linen Services Attendant. The employee reports to the Central Transport Department at the beginning of their shift to receive the daily assignment and must report to the assigned department and position for that shift. Work assignments cannot be refused once assigned to one of the listed positions. Minimum Qualifications
Must have a valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from Monongalia County Health Department (MCHD) before starting, or obtain an MCHD Temporary FSWP no later than the first Wednesday of employment and a permanent MCHD FSWP within one month of the start date. Must maintain a valid NCHD FSWP throughout employment. Obtain certification in HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire date. Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform duties associated with the Support Associate position as defined in the Support Associate job description. Assist the patient care team, transport patients to and from testing and other areas, and move items throughout the facility as required. Perform duties associated with the Housekeeping Assistant position as defined in the Housekeeping Assistant job description. Clean assigned areas using proper procedures; maintain productivity and cost effectiveness; work as a team. Perform duties associated with the Dietetic Assistant position as defined in the Dietetic Assistant job description. Execute fundamental food service duties such as patient tray line, dish room,utilities, cafeteria server, and cold food production; work in a team to deliver high‑quality food and service. Perform duties associated with the Linen Services Attendant position as defined in the Linen Services Attendant job description. Retrieve soiled linen, process linen, and distribute clean linen. Perform duties associated with the Material Handling Attendant position as defined in the Material Handling Attendant job description. Receive, inventory, stock, issue, handle, and distribute supplies, equipment, and instrumentation; maintain adequate inventory levels for surgical services. Perform duties associated with the Equipment Handling Attendant position as defined in the Equipment Handling Attendant job description. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires strength and stamina for lifting, moving, stopping, reaching, standing, and walking for long periods. Lift patients weighing up to 50 pounds and own body weight up to 60 pounds. Stand for the entire shift. Push or pull carts or beds weighing up to 200 pounds; pull a fully loaded meal cart up to 250 pounds; push loaded supply carts over 600 pounds. Maintain visual and oral acuity. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Effective work in a noisy setting and under deadline pressures. Work area may be hot and/or wet. Work with cleaning and dishwashing chemicals. SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficient in math skills to count, inventory, and convert quantities. Excellent communication skills (both phone and personal). Ability to work in a high‑stress environment. ADDITIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION
