Position Summary The Material Handler receives work assignments from the area chief and/or First Line Supervisor, who directs the cleaning and loading of Ammonium Sulfate trucks and hopper cars. The role may include reassignment to other sections within the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

Hopper car cleaning, washing, and inspection

Silo hopper car loading and yard operations using EL‑8 elevator and payloaders

Ammonium sulfate cleaning and housekeeping in BD‑12, B‑12A and related areas

Rejected hopper car unloading and overweight/underweight weight adjustments

Inspections and general operation of forklifts, bobcats, pay loaders, shovels, and other equipment

Pneumatic and manual hopper gate opener operation

Snow removal plant‑wide using pay loaders, shovels, and other equipment

Customer truck and North side truck loading, silo truck loading

Safety operations of all vehicles and other job‑related equipment

Support and enforce all corporate, facility, and department policies

Subject to 12‑hour rotating shifts and flexible to changing priorities and emergencies

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Good written and verbal communication skills

Valid driver’s license

Additional Qualifications

Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, follow directions, comprehension, reading, writing, speaking, mathematics, organizing, and innovation

Able to perform duties while wearing required PPE

Computer competency

Compensation The hourly rate for this position is $20.91. AdvanSix offers a range of market‑competitive total rewards, including periodic pay rate adjustments based on market competitiveness. Hired applicants will be eligible for paid holidays, paid time off including vacation, eligibility to purchase company stock, tuition reimbursement, and a 401(k) with a competitive company match.
