Introduction Lincoln Wastewater System is one of 11 divisions in the City of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Department. The LTU team provides transit, transportation, and utilities services year‑round to the citizens of Lincoln. Nearly 600 team members make up LTU.

Mission Lincoln Wastewater System is responsible for all aspects of operating and maintaining the sanitary sewer collection system and water resource recovery facilities. It is our mission to provide vital wastewater services to the citizens and customers of Lincoln, ensuring the highest possible levels of public health, economic growth, environmental quality, and fiscal responsibility for the community.

Position Overview We are looking for a skilled and safety‑conscious Utility Equipment Operator I to join our team. This position requires skillful work providing preventative cleaning, maintenance, construction and repair, and performing inspection duties on sanitary sewers to provide reliable sewer service to commercial, domestic, and industrial customers.

This Safety Sensitive position is subject to Mandatory Drug Testing policies as a condition of employment.

Hours Full time; Monday - Friday; 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent and at least 6 months of experience in the operation and maintenance of trucks and construction equipment heavier than pickup trucks, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Necessary Special Requirements Valid driver’s license. A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of appointment.
