Summary Job Description Assigns work to forklift operators as needed to insure the warehouse meets all internal and external customer demands. Greets drivers and directs them accordingly to dock times and availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates & maintains forklift in a safe & efficient manner using work instructions, inspection checklist, visual management & computer interface.

Reviews shipping schedule throughout shift to ensure product is loaded & shipped accurately to meet customer’s requirements.

Works with warehouse management team to ensure personnel are assigned as needed to meet warehouse shift staffing requirements.

Ensures accurate inventory counts & notifies cycle counter of discrepancies.

Ensures forklift drivers are accurately & safely staging & loading product onto trucks.

Maintains a clean work area & performs general housekeeping duties.

Scheduling of dock times for customers.

Basic admin. Including filing of bill of ladens.

Sign for all incoming materials via FedEx & UPS.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, &/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, SAP, & MIR preferred. Must demonstrate curiosity & be polite to all customers & drivers.

Education High School diploma or general education (GED); or six months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Language Skills Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, & procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports & correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, & decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, & percent.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems & deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations A valid forklift certification, which meets OSHA requirements, is required to perform the essential duties of this job.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand or walk for 12 hours & is frequently required to reach with hands & arms. The employee is regularly required to communicate with other employees & be aware of sounds in the plant. The employee must also frequently lift &/or move up to 70 pounds.

Work Environment Job is performed near moving mechanical parts & occasionally in outdoor weather. Safety glasses are required to be worn. The noise level is loud, requiring hearing protection to be worn. GMP procedures are observed in all areas of the plant.

Authorization Ability to shut down any machine if it poses an imminent danger to employee’s health &/or safety. Ability to shut down any machine because of a quality problem so suspect material can be contained. Ability to shut down any if it is down three times in one hour for the same mechanical problem. Authority to contact any staff or management team member with concerns, questions or suggestions pertaining to their job or work environment.
