Position Summary
It is the responsibility of the blaster to perform the blast procedures developed by Incotec. The blaster shall be able to determine what is acceptable or unacceptable after processing. Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Will be required to change out media from blast machines (Fine grit particle sizes)
Must be able to use measuring equipment (micrometers & tri-rolls) to verify no size loss in product
Must be able to perform all visual checks on product as well as operating equipment to ensure conformance
Must be able to perform all blast functions using dust mask, ear protection, safety glasses and various types of gloves.
Must be able to apply common sense to understanding to carry out and follow instruction written on job travelers and/or given verbally from lead or supervisor
Supervisors as deemed appropriate may assign additional functions and requirements depending on workflow and company needs
Experience & Education
Must be able to lift upwards of 30 lbs.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
SAFETY EXPECTATIONS
Be responsible for safety awareness in all jobs to help eliminate injuries to yourself and your team members.
Learn and follow all safety requirements. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
Constantly check for safety hazards and ensure problems are rectified promptly.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Report to work fit for duty and not affected by alcohol, drugs, medications or other harmful influences
Actively participate in safety improvement activities.
Report any unsafe practices by coworkers or contractors.
Immediately report all injuries and other safety incidents.
If you are injured return to work as soon as possible to appropriate duties.
