We are seeking an
Assembler
to join our manufacturing team in
Owatonna, Minnesota .
As an
Assembler
you will be responsible for performing routine materials inspections/handling, routine machine operations, assembly, basic quality control and packing/shipping prep under limited supervision in a manner, which meets or exceeds the established quality and quantity standards for the area.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Review work assignments, paperwork, and other documentation/directions to facilitate the best planning of time and activity for the shift
Performs manufacturing processes assigned according to established policies, procedures, and standards of the area
Checks completed work for conformance with specifications, noting and forwarding Defective Material Report (DMR) data for decision and action by others
Established quality and quantity standards are consistently met or exceeded, resulting in minimal downtime and/or rework
Confers with Manager or department Lead to share information, observations, and recommendations for improvements in processes which might increase overall results within established quality standards
Maintain the assigned area in a clean, orderly condition to minimize safety hazards and lost‑time accidents
Contributes to a cooperative work effort through performance of assigned duties in an accurate and timely manner
Demonstrates knowledge of manufacturing processes, minimizes uncertainty, and facilitates organization of materials and tools to meet established quality and quantity standards
Provides general guidance and assistance for trainees in a manner which contributes to their development and overall results being achieved
English proficiency is required for this manufacturing position to ensure safety compliance and fulfillment of operational needs. The candidate must be able to speak, read and understand English in order to follow equipment instructions, understand safety protocols and respond to emergency situations. Strong English skills are also necessary for communicating with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth production processes and to maintain quality standards.
While performing the functions of the job, the team member is continuously required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. The team member is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, squat, bend, twist/turn, and climb ladder/stairs. The team member is continuously required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate machines, equipment, tools or controls. Team member is continuously required to reach with hands and arms. The functions of the job include occasionally viewing a computer monitor and repetitive motion activities on the keyboard. The team member may continuously be required to lift, move, push/pull up to and over 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, dept perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Highly qualified candidates will have:
3-6 months manufacturing experience
Experience training others
Experience understanding engineering drawings
Experience performing mechanical assembly
Experience performing electrical assembly
Experience operating machinery
