About the Position: This is a

military technician

position with the 412th Theater Engineer Command, Headquarters Support Command, 467th Engineer Battalion, 926th Engineer Brigade located at Millington, Tennessee.

Duties

Conduct safety investigations of minor/moderate accidents and incidents.

Assist in conducting risk assessments to formulate corrective and/or preventative actions.

Analyze accident investigation reports involving operations and facilities to identify potential problems and/or trends.

Assist in performing safety awareness training.

Promote safety programs through presentations, briefings and displays.

Assist brigade safety specialist in forming recommendations for hazard abatement.

Maintain records and data of the Battalion Safety Program.

Maintain a Hazard Log to track items through the abatement process to close.

Requirements

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).

This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

This position requires you to have and maintain a driver’s license.

This position requires you to obtain and maintain a military driver's license.

This position requires you to complete 40 contact hours of Safety Professional Education/Course work each subsequent year as follow-on professional development.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the Unit Safety Officer Course within 12 months of appointment.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete OSHA 510: Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry course within 12 months of appointment.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete OSHA 511: Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry course within 12 months of appointment.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete OSHA 3015: Excavation, Trenching and Soil Mechanics course within 12 months of appointment.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete OSHA 3095: Electrical Standards course within 12 months of appointment.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete OSHA 2045: Machinery and Machine Guarding Standards course within 12 months of appointment.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete OSHA 2264: Permit-Required Confined Space Entry course within 12 months of appointment.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete Army Mishap Investigators Course within 12 months of appointment.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete CES Foundation course within 12 months of appointment.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the following courses within 24 months of appointment: OSHA 2015: Hazardous Materials; Basic Radiation Safety; OSHA 521: OSHA Guide to Industrial Hygiene.

This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the following courses 24 months of appointment: Risk Management/Job Hazard Analysis; NFPA 101: Life Safety Code.
