Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented individual to join our team as a Dispatch Assistant. As a key member of our logistics and supply chain department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of goods from one location to another. This is a crucial role that requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multi‑task, and a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the dispatch of goods according to customer orders and delivery schedules.
Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Monitor and track shipments, providing updates to relevant parties as needed.
Assess potential risks and resolve any logistics issues that may arise during transit.
Assist in the preparation of shipping documentation, including bills of lading and export/import documentation.
Coordinate special requests or requirements for specific shipments, such as hazardous materials or temperature‑controlled goods.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, ensuring all necessary information is logged and filed appropriately.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience in a similar role within the logistics and supply chain industry
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail
Familiarity with transportation regulations and industry best practices
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
