RJW Logistics Group is hiring for the

Material Handler Lead

position to maintain warehouse order, ensure safety, and efficiently handle shipping and receiving operations. The role reports directly to the shift supervisor.

Shift + Pay:

2nd Shift Monday – Friday 3:30pm–12:30am – $22/hr

Job Purpose Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and housekeeping; ensure shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded. Perform duties providing material handling services for shipping and receiving activities. Ensure material handlers operate forklifts and walkie‑towers safely, following all safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receive, unload, move, and tag incoming parts and equipment.

Proficiency with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), QMS (Quality Management Systems), and Lean warehousing. Operate material handling equipment and use an RF scanner.

Pull and stage parts for production and complete requisitions for part shortages.

Collect and properly package inventory and purchased items needing shipment.

Comply with safety policies while using lifting devices (forklifts, scissor lifts) and maintain clean initiative standards.

Learn day‑to‑day warehouse operations.

Verify orders are complete and accurate.

Pick each customer order efficiently to minimize shipping costs and ensure product safety.

Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Additional Responsibilities

Possess a sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to work with limited supervision.

General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.

Ability to work as part of a team and lead.

Must read, write, and understand English.

Attention to detail and quality required.

Good communication, clear & concise, problem resolution, and people skills.

Flexibility to work overtime and provide coverage for other shifts.

PC skills helpful.

Major experience on sit‑down forklifts and walkies.

Experience building pallets and breaking down stock for independent orders.

Experienced in cross‑docking freight processes.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced warehouse.

Qualifications

2–4 years in a warehouse environment.

Good, stable work and attendance record.

Education and/or Experience Required

High School Diploma or GED.

Warehousing certifications a plus.

Language Skills Sets

Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations.

Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.

Must communicate effectively in English.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Compute rates, ratios, and percentages; interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Solving practical problems with limited standardization.

Interpreting instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Determining root causes and corrective actions.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, word processing, and spreadsheet software.

Physical Demands

Occasional lifting/moving up to 60 pounds.

Ability to stand for an 8‑hour shift.

Ability to work beyond continuous 8 hours when required.

In sound physical health per certified physician; no evidence of controlled substance use.

Work Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.

Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
