We are a mid-size national firm specializing in corporate and commercial litigation matters. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Litigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in legal support, who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
Location: Austin, TX
Responsibilities
Provide direct support to litigation attorneys, including drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and maintaining case files.
Manage the attorney calendar, scheduling court dates, meetings, and deadlines.
Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including document collection, organization, and production.
Prepare and file court documents in compliance with established guidelines and deadlines.
Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders to coordinate meetings, depositions, and hearings.
Track and record billable hours, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of court rules and filing procedures to ensure compliance.
Assist with trial preparation, including organization of exhibits, trial binders, and other materials.
Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, maintaining office supplies, and managing correspondence.
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant or similar role.
Proficiency in calendaring litigation deadlines and managing complex schedules.
Strong knowledge of legal procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.
Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research software.
Familiarity with document management systems and timekeeping software.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
High degree of professionalism, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Paralegal certification or equivalent legal qualification preferred but not required.
