Position Summary The Lead Warehouse Person is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, inventory control, and materials management to support electric utility operations. This role provides leadership to warehouse staff, ensures accurate inventory practices, and maintains safe, efficient warehouse facilities across assigned regions.
Key Responsibilities
Train and provide day-to-day direction to warehouse personnel
Manage inventory levels to support operational and outage needs
Maintain accurate inventory records and complete transactions in NISC
Prepare purchase requisitions and coordinate ordering of materials
Pull and stage materials for contractor and work orders
Supervise non-inventory duties, including timekeeping and leave approvals
Support warehouse coverage across regions as needed
Maintain warehouse facilities, grounds, housekeeping, and safety standards
Participate in safety meetings and adhere to cooperative policies
Provide performance feedback to the Region Line Manager
Respond to after‑hours needs during outages or emergency situations
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
Experience in inventory management preferred
Knowledge of electric utility construction materials and work order processes is a plus
Working Conditions
Typical schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (some irregular hours required)
Must be available during adverse weather and outage events
Position requires physical activity including lifting, climbing, operating forklifts, and use of hand tools
Residency Requirement This is a direct operational position. Employees must reside within a 25-mile radius of their assigned office.
