What You Will Be Doing
Support all areas of the plant including RWT, Extrusion, Value Added, Project Engineering and Facilities Maintenance.
Support projects as a millwright for planning and implementation, including SAP implementation, new equipment install, and modifications.
Work from maintenance work orders, schedules, manuals, check lists, prints, sketches and schematics in accordance with national and local codes and standards.
Fabricate, repair, install and maintain equipment and facility utilizing a broad range of hand tools, instruments, machining equipment, cutting and welding equipment, drilling, boring and grinding tools.
Perform hydraulic, pneumatic, and gas plumbing and piping operations; install and repair high and low pressure hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, fittings, couplings, pumps, motors, valves, regulators, pipe, tubing and hoses.
Install, diagnose, maintain and repair gas‑fired ovens, burners and associated regulation and control devices.
Align, level and balance machinery, pumps, motors and other equipment.
Attend and participate in meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain knowledge of new developments, requirements and policies.
Assist with departmental operations as required to maintain workflow or respond to emergencies.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures; maintain a clean and orderly work area using 5S standards.
Perform all duties with strict adherence to safety, environmental, quality and productivity requirements.
Required Education : High School/GED. Associate’s degree in a technical field or at least five years’ experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, completion of a legitimate apprenticeship program as a millwright, mechanical or machinist, or holder of a journeyman’s card.
Qualifications
Certified Welder critical for welding hydraulic piping.
Advanced trade mathematics, visualizing, and use of complex tools and equipment; proficiency with precision measuring instruments and gauges.
Knowledge of mechanical technology equivalent to a complete accredited apprenticeship of a recognized trade such as mechanics or millwrights.
Excellent analytical problem‑solving skills.
Ability to exercise considerable judgment in machine and fabricate specialty replacement parts requiring initiative and ingenuity.
Manual dexterity to use hand and power tools, including lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, welding equipment, drill press, and band saws.
Ability to drive forklift, scissor lift, JLG and operate an overhead crane.
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Knowledge of process related standards, health and safety regulations, and strong statistical, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
