Position Description
Ryder is immediately hiring a Full Time Material Handler in Joliet, Illinois.
Salary & Benefits
Hourly Pay $21.00 per hour
Shift Pay $1.00 per hour (paid weekly)
Weekly pay and on‑job paid training

Responsibilities
Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
Recognize and correct potential process errors before they adversely affect the customer.
Identify damaged product and take appropriate action when discovered.
Pull orders accurately as assigned.
Stage orders according to carrier location and verify number of pallets picked and stage location.
Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation, retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
Follow location and work center safety and security policies and procedures.
May be required to train others in warehouse functions, perform housekeeping duties, and other assignments.
Operate forklift equipment or other warehouse machinery.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required.
Ability to read, perform basic mathematics, and understand written and verbal instructions in English for safety, work instructions, and policies.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to input data into a computer system.
Work overtime as assigned.
Additional Notes Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer background requirements.
