Job Summary
You will serve as a
MATERIALS HANDLER
in the Material Management Department Mid-Atlantic of
NAVAL SUPPLY SYSTEMS COMMAND (NAVSUP)
FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.
Duties
Receive, issue, and store various types of materials, supplies, and equipment
Read shipping documents and certify completeness and accuracy of deliveries
Check, count, inspect for damage, and identify materials; verify against documentation
Load/unload vehicles and store items in the correct location
Read and prepare material/inventory documents
Use automated warehouse equipment and forklift
Read and understand warehouse plans and operate materials handling equipment
Requirements Applicants must demonstrate the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of this position. Qualification requirements emphasize quality of experience, not length of time. Applicants will be evaluated based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies in the job elements. The job has a screen‑out element: you must perform the duties of a Materials Handler under normal supervision, including receiving, issuing, storing, and managing materials; reading and preparing documents; loading/unloading; using automated equipment; and operating a forklift.
