Kitsap Recovery Center is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to fill this
Treatment Assistant
role in an
on-call
capacity that serves as a vital support system for individuals on their journey to recovery. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to advance your career in substance abuse treatment while making a lasting impact on individuals, families, and the community affected by chemical dependency. You'll be stepping into a state-approved facility that utilizes the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) treatment criteria, providing both inpatient and outpatient services, ready for caring professionals to help guide clients through their recovery journey.

Working primarily in detoxification services, you'll be at the frontline of helping individuals take their first steps toward healthy lifestyles, embodying KRC's mission to promote wellness through superior, responsive, and cost-effective treatment services.
As a Treatment Assistant, you will:
Provide direct support
to detoxification and intensive inpatient treatment programs, ensuring patients receive structured, compassionate care throughout their stay
Admit and release patients
in accordance with established procedures, ensuring compliance with program standards and regulatory requirements
Enforce facility rules and regulations , maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment through regular security checks and emergency response
Monitor patient activities , including those led by outside guests or speakers, intervening appropriately to maintain safety and program integrity
Maintain accurate and confidential records , including logs related to patient behavior, security checks, medications administered, and prescriptions taken
Offer guidance, encouragement, and emotional support
to patients throughout their treatment and recovery process
Provide phone-based support
for crisis calls, bed management inquiries, and admission requests from hospitals, referral partners, and family members
Observe and document urinalysis collection
in compliance with program standards
Serve as a lead worker when needed , particularly during night and weekend shifts, supporting smooth facility operations
Assist healthcare providers , as directed, with documentation, implementation of treatment plans, and coordination of ordered referrals
Support facility operations , including food service assistance, housekeeping, and laundry duties as required
What you bring: Healthcare Support Experience
One year of responsible healthcare support work experience , or equivalent combination of related education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform essential job functions
Specialized Industry Background (Preferred)
Six months of experience or formal training in an
alcohol or drug-related field
Prior experience in an
inpatient or live-in substance use disorder treatment facility
Technical & Operational Skills
Ability to maintain detailed records, logs, and reports with accuracy and confidentiality
Familiarity with structured treatment environments, security procedures, and patient safety protocols
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Strong verbal communication skills for patient interaction, crisis phone support, and coordination with healthcare partners
Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, respectful, and professional support to diverse populations
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Ability to act as a lead worker and support team operations during off‑hours

The successful incumbent will or may have unsupervised access to children under 18 years of age, a vulnerable adult, or a vulnerable person, or access to a secured/confidential facility or computer system(s). As a result, Kitsap County will be conducting an extensive criminal background check by law enforcement agencies, which may include fingerprinting.
Driving Requirements
Category 1:
Driver operates County-owned vehicle.
Within 30 days of employment:
Complete Bloodborne/Airborne Pathogens training and receive Hepatitis B vaccine or sign a waiver.
Obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
Obtain Food Handlers Permit.
