Job Description
The University of Tulsa seeks an Assistant Professor of Accounting to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses, including Cost Accounting and MBA-related courses. Candidates will create and proctor exams to evaluate student progress, maintain active and productive research in Accounting broadly defined, publish and present findings, engage in professional and service activities, and establish professional relationships with students, staff, alumni, and the general public.
Ph.D. in Accounting or Business is required.
A record of publications or works-in-progress in the area related to the degree is also required.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the College of Business, including the BS in Accounting and the Masters in Accounting program.
Create and proctor exams to evaluate student progress.
Maintain active and productive research in accounting, broadly defined, and publish findings in leading academic journals.
Engage in professional activities and service to the department, university, and broader community.
Establish and nurture professional relationships with students, staff, alumni, and the public.
Evidence of scholarship in Accounting Information Systems is especially welcome.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Accounting or Business (ABD applicants who are close to completing their degree requirements will also be considered).
Established record of high-quality published research and work-in-progress aimed at scholarly journals.
Effective teaching skills at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Physical Demands Minimal physical demands.
