Machine Operator (Nights)
Location: Kansas City, MO

Shift: Night Shift – 12‑hour rotating schedule (7 pm–7 am)

Responsibilities
Safely sets up, operates, and monitors bag machinery and equipment to meet customer and production goals.
Completes bag machine setup for production runs, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipment to ensure proper operation.
Monitors the production process, inspects and tests materials and equipment using safe and proper protocols, ensuring products meet quality standards and production quotas are met.
Verifies and tracks all materials for inventory and work‑in‑progress regulations.
Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating efficiently.
Trains and provides guidance to machine assistants and new crew members.
Keeps machinery and surrounding areas organized by meeting housekeeping, storage, staging, and cleanliness requirements.
Completes all necessary documentation for internal or external use.
Works effectively with other departments or team members, such as machine technicians, supervisors, and quality control inspectors, to coordinate production activities and address potential issues as they arise.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years experience in manufacturing or related field assisting or operating a machine.
Mechanically inclined.
Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
Exceptional time‑management and organization skills; able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
Effective communicator (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision‑making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions or options.
Self‑confident, self‑motivated, polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast‑paced environment.

Pay Range $23.65 – $26.05 per hour.
Physical Demands The role routinely requires: standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, using hands/fingers to type or handle; occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee may need to get on/off equipment, staircases, and work around moving equipment. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines are also used.
Work Environment Manufacturing or warehouse environment with hearing protection, safety shoes, vision protection, and other PPE as required. Exposure to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, inks, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels, and hot/humid conditions may occur.
