About the Role

The Company is seeking a Dean of Libraries and Press to provide strategic and innovative leadership in support of the institution's mission. The successful candidate will be an accomplished and visionary leader, responsible for the overall management of the university libraries, regional history center, museum of the health sciences, humanities center, and press. This role is pivotal in advocating for the libraries and the role of university presses in fostering engagement with global communities of scholars and creative artists. The Dean will also be tasked with driving innovation and collaboration in the delivery of resources and services, as well as leading fundraising efforts to enhance the libraries' role as an intellectual hub.

Applicants for the Dean of Libraries and Press position at the company should have an MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited institution, with a minimum of 7 years' experience in progressive leadership within library administration, preferably in a research library environment. The role requires a candidate who can manage resources, collections, staff, technology, and facilities to support the university's teaching, research, and land grant missions. Key responsibilities include shaping the future of the libraries, fostering and driving innovation, and leading efforts to enhance the company's impact on the broader culture through its scholarly and creative output. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of building on existing foundations to ensure the continued success and relevance of the libraries and press in the academic and local community.
