About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy Executive Director of Projects to join its executive team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of project delivery and programming, with a focus on engineering projects, services, and activities. This includes full management of the project development program, from planning and implementation to environmental studies and contract management. The role involves close coordination with government agencies, managing a comprehensive capital program, and ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. The Deputy Executive Director will also be involved in the preparation of the Comprehensive Investment Plan, managing the department's budget, and supervising a team of professionals.
Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree in civil, traffic, or transportation engineering, with a Master's degree strongly desired. A minimum of 10 years' of managerial experience in transportation engineering, including 6 years in a supervisory role, is required. The ideal candidate will have a professional license as a Civil Engineer in the State of California, with additional certifications in Traffic Engineering and Structural Engineering being a plus. The role demands a high level of expertise in project management, environmental impact assessment, and a thorough understanding of relevant laws and regulations. The Deputy Executive Director will also be expected to represent the company in various professional and public settings and to be committed to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
