About the Role

The Company is in search of dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors. The ideal candidates are passionate about the mission of celebrating and strengthening families, and are natural connectors and decision-makers. Board members are expected to contribute their time, skills, and experience to provide strategic leadership, and governance, and to actively engage in fundraising and resource development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a track record of leadership, and a commitment to equity and inclusion are essential. While not mandatory, experience in areas such as law, human resources, fundraising, marketing, government relations, or event planning is valued, as these perspectives can enhance the organization's work.

Responsibilities for board members at the company include collaborating with the Executive Director and fellow board members to set strategic priorities, measure organizational outcomes, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization. This involves attending board meetings, serving on committees, and actively participating in fundraising initiatives. Board members are also expected to be community ambassadors, advocating for the organization's work and engaging with various leaders to strengthen partnerships. The role requires a minimum annual personal contribution and efforts to secure external support. The company values a culture of accountability, and board members are encouraged to embrace this by being prepared, following through on commitments, and supporting the collective success of the board.
