About the Role

The Company is in search of a Corporate Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance for its new semiconductor manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, Indiana. The successful candidate will be responsible for all legal aspects of the facility's establishment and operation, including commercial agreements, construction contracts, and operational compliance. This role demands a mid-level attorney with a Juris Doctor degree from a top-tier US law school, active bar membership, and a minimum of 4 years of experience in law firms or as in-house counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution, as well as experience with construction and procurement-related contracts. Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is required, and experience in the semiconductor or advanced technology manufacturing sector is preferred.

Key responsibilities for the Corporate Counsel include monitoring and ensuring compliance with US regulations affecting semiconductor operations, developing policies and procedures for regulatory compliance, and managing relationships with government officials and agencies. The role also involves coordinating with the parent company's legal team on cross-border matters and corporate governance. The candidate should have the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments, exceptional communication skills, and the capacity to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders. Experience with the Chips Act or other government funding projects, as well as a background in regulatory matters, is highly valued. The position offers a unique opportunity to shape legal strategy for a major semiconductor investment in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape and requires a willingness to travel periodically to other company locations as needed.
