About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to lead the organization's fundraising and engagement efforts. The CPO will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive philanthropy strategy to support the mission of the organization. This includes meeting and exceeding annual revenue goals, diversifying revenue streams, and partnering with the marketing team to achieve their revenue targets. The ideal candidate will be an expert in fundraising, with a deep knowledge of the philanthropy field and a strong personal orientation toward ambitious giving. They should be an inspirational and collaborative team leader, with a strategic, creative, and results-oriented approach to their work. The CPO will also be expected to be an exceptional relationship builder and communicator, with a deep commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
Key responsibilities for the CPO include leading all aspects of the development function, managing a team of 28, and overseeing fundraising programs, donor engagement, and community initiatives. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of balancing vision with action, and will have the ability to influence and inspire teams and partners. They should be a big-picture thinker, entrepreneurial, and self-directed, with a genuine passion for philanthropy and the power of fundraising to advance the mission. The role requires a leader with high analytical and financial literacy, exceptional organization, and a results-oriented mindset, who can also bring a people-centered leadership style and a commitment to equity and transparency.
