About the Role

The Company is seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization into its next chapter. The successful candidate will be responsible for upholding the company's mission, strategic vision, and financial objectives, while ensuring the organization's consistent impact and innovation. This pivotal role demands a leader with a deep commitment to racial and social justice, capable of inspiring a diverse team and fostering a culture of trust, openness, and shared responsibility. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors to enhance the strategic plan, promote the company's vision, and maintain transparent communication and accountability. Key responsibilities include organizational leadership, board relations, and fundraising, with a focus on strengthening the company's presence and partnerships to support its vital work.

Candidates for the CEO position at the company should have a proven track record in leading strategic growth and change for a social justice mission, with a preference for those with a J.D. and/or legal background. The role requires several years of experience in a community-based, civil rights, or related field, and a strong understanding of leadership in a multi-racial, multi-generational setting. The ideal candidate will be a compelling spokesperson, capable of cultivating strong relationships both internally and externally, and will have a commitment to fostering collaborative, constructive labor-management partnerships. The CEO will be expected to anticipate and address emerging threats and opportunities, and to ensure that the company's hard-won victories in the modern civil rights movement continue to shine as beacons of justice, equality, and human dignity.
