About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Principal Gifts, a mission-driven leader with a deep commitment to educational equity. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and driving the organization's individual giving strategy to ensure long-term sustainability and impact. This role involves leading the development of a comprehensive, multi-year philanthropy strategy, providing strategic oversight for a significant principal giving portfolio, and serving as a key external ambassador to high-net-worth and principal donors. The Vice President will also be a visible and influential leader, cultivating partnerships with high-impact funders, Board members, and senior executives to fuel the organization's national growth and impact.

Candidates for the Vice President of Principal Gifts position should have at least 10 years' of experience in fundraising with major donors, ideally within an educational nonprofit or mission-driven organization. A proven track record in securing multi-year, seven- and eight-figure investments, exceptional relationship-building and influence skills, and outstanding strategic communication abilities are essential. The role requires a leader with strong business and financial acumen, capable of aligning philanthropy with program, finance, and data teams to drive mission and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will also have a Bachelor's degree, at least 5 years' of leadership experience, and proficiency in leveraging data and systems to inform strategy and performance management.
