About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its economic development initiatives. The successful candidate will be a strategic and operating leader, responsible for defining and managing the investment strategy, capital formation, and partnerships. This role requires a visionary who can also ensure the operational details are handled with care, including financial oversight, reporting, and governance. The Executive Director will be the primary point of contact for the Board, community partners, and the City, and must be adept at maintaining the organization's independence while fostering collaboration.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (graduate degree preferred) and at least 5 years' of experience in economic development, project management, public-private partnerships, or related fields. Key competencies include strong analytical and problem-solving skills, political acumen, financial literacy, and a strategic mindset. The role demands a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, an adaptive communicator, and a balanced personality that is both a diligent operator and an opportunity-sensing strategist. The Executive Director will be expected to create a strong foundation in the first year, implementing reporting frameworks, standard operating procedures, and data-driven tools to support the organization's work and impact.
