About the Role
The Company is seeking an AVP, Accounting Policy to join their dynamic finance organization. The successful candidate will be the primary authority on technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and Statutory accounting standards. This critical role involves leading technical accounting research, partnering with senior finance leaders, and contributing to financial reporting processes. The AVP will also be responsible for monitoring emerging accounting and regulatory developments, representing the organization at industry forums, and providing training on technical accounting policies.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a CPA certification, and at least 7 years' of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for those with a background in a technical accounting role. Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP technical accounting, including specific ASC codes, and strong knowledge of U.S. Statutory accounting is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, self-directed approach, advanced research and documentation skills, and the ability to build effective partnerships across finance teams. Experience with accounting standard implementations, special projects, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are also required. The role demands an individual with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication abilities.
