About this Job

OUR MISSION

The mission of this agency is to provide flood protection through the operation and maintenance of a large flood control system which consists of levees, pumping stations, floodgates, floodwalls, and drainage structures.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The goa l of the maintenance departme nt i s to ensure that the flood control measures they a r e responsible fo r operate in the manner i n which they were designed .

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in mobile equipment operations.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

• Operates the following heavy equipment to maintain levees and drainage channels as needed:

• Bulldozers

• Excavators

• Backhoes

• Motor Grader

• Dump Truck(s)

• Tractor Trailer

• Forklift

• Tractor with Various Implements

• Skid Steer

• Inspects the l evee system and other flood control i nfrastructure to ensure that systems are operating as designed. Performs maintenance on all eq u i pme nt, faci l i ti es, an d other agency assets as needed.

• Operates storm water pump stations and other storm water structures as needed. May be required to perform other duties as necessary including but not limited to those related to emergency/disaster.

Appointment Type: Probational

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
