OB Surg Tech - Labor and Delivery, Nights

Overview: Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required Work Experience3 years Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program OR has oneyear previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist OR of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required Licenses and Certifications BLS Required Additional Licenses and CertificationsNRP is Preferred
