Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1+ years Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide specialized one-on-one support as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) within an elementary school setting in the Virginia Beach area. This full-time contracted role focuses on delivering targeted behavioral interventions to support an elementary student with aggressive behaviors, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist the special education teacher in implementing the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and behavior support strategies. Monitor and collect detailed data on the students behavior and academic performance. Escort the student during transitions to and from classes, especially in unstructured settings where challenges arise. Collaborate closely with the educational team to adapt and improve intervention techniques. Maintain confidentiality and follow all relevant protocols and guidelines. Qualifications and Experience: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is mandatory. Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred. Familiarity with behavior intervention plans and data collection methods. Ability to respond promptly and professionally in situations involving aggressive behavior. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Location: Virginia Beach Area Deep Creek Central Elementary School Employment Details: Contracted full-time position, 37 hours per week. Immediate start to cover a backfill vacancy. Contract duration through June 16, 2026. Direct supervision may be available via district-provided Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
