Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Special Education Teacher with a passion for supporting high school students in a dynamic learning environment. The role requires familiarity with IEPs and involves a collaborative approach, primarily using a push-in model within general education classrooms. You will join a team dedicated to delivering tailored educational experiences while working with a directed studies class and managing a specialized caseload. Key Responsibilities: Deliver instruction and support to high school students with special needs, adhering to individualized education plans (IEPs). Collaborate closely with general education teachers to integrate and adapt curriculum through mostly push-in services, with occasional pull-outs as needed. Manage a directed studies class designed to reinforce learning and provide additional academic assistance. Maintain and update special education documentation and student progress records. Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to developing effective educational strategies. Qualifications: Special Education Certification required. Social Studies Certification preferred. Experience working in a high school setting with special education students. Strong understanding and application of IEPs. Ability to work collaboratively with general education staff and adapt instructional methods accordingly. Position Details: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Two openings available: one for an FMLA leave coverage and one for a full semester contract. Located in the Warren, Michigan area. Contract position for the current school year.
