Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers to provide support within K-12 educational settings in Summerville, SC. This contract position offers a full-time schedule (Monday through Friday) from the start date through May 29, 2026, with specific school assignments in the North Charleston area, West Ashley area, and Liberty Hill Academy to be confirmed. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, including those with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Manage caseloads in Low Incidence and Intensive Developmental Support classrooms. Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) to implement individualized education plans. Maintain compliance with state licensure regulations and educational standards. Qualifications: Active Special Education Teacher licensure for the state of South Carolina is required. Multi-categorical licensure is preferred. Experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviors and diagnoses related to ASD is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to teach in a challenging classroom environment, particularly at Liberty Hill Academy. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Locations: Schools located within the North Charleston and West Ashley areas, and Liberty Hill Academy, Summerville, SC.
