Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the Charleston, SC area serving K-12 students under a contract from ASAP through 5/29/2026. This full-time, Monday through Friday role supports students with diverse learning needs across multiple school locations, including North Charleston, West Ashley, and Liberty Hill Academy. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction in Low Incidence and Intensive Developmental Support classrooms. Work closely with students diagnosed with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Collaborate with teaching assistants, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to implement individualized education plans. Manage classroom behavior and adapt teaching methods to meet students unique needs. Maintain documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and district requirements. Qualifications: Active South Carolina Special Education Teacher licensure; Multi-Categorical Licensure strongly preferred. Experience working with students with autism and behavioral challenges is highly desirable. Ability to manage challenging classroom environments with a team-based approach. Excellent communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to student development and individualized education. Location and Schedule: Multiple school locations in North Charleston, West Ashley, and Liberty Hill Academy. Full-time, Monday through Friday.
