Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized middle school teaching opportunity is available for educators with experience in special education, particularly in emotional support programs. This contract position spans the current school year and offers a meaningful setting to support students demonstrating emotional and behavioral challenges within a structured environment. Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)Duration: Contract through 5/22/26Schedule: Approximately 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, roughly 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction to a small caseload of five students in an Emotional Support Program designed for those with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs, supporting both academic progress and behavioral growth. Provide assistance with personal care tasks, including toileting support, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Collaborate closely with school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions. Maintain detailed documentation on student progress and communication with families and multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications: Active LBS1 certification or equivalent credentials in special education. Prior experience working with middle school students in an emotional support or behavioral program. Ability to remain flexible and comfortable handling a small, dynamic caseload. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively partner with students, parents, and staff.
