Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A unique opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support a middle school Emotional Support Program designed for students with emotional and behavioral challenges. This onsite contract position is located in the Aurora, IL area and runs through the current school year until May 22, 2026. The role involves working approximately 37.5 hours per week, with daily hours from around 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction and support to a caseload of five students within a highly structured Emotional Support classroom setting Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs, particularly for those exhibiting emotional and behavioral difficulties Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors and paraprofessionals, to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Provide guidance and assistance with daily living activities as needed, including possible toileting support Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports to track student development and program effectiveness Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to emotional growth and academic success Desired Qualifications and Skills: Valid LBS1 certification or equivalent licensure in Special Education Experience working with middle school students in an Emotional Support or similar program Strong understanding of behavioral interventions and strategies for students with emotional challenges Flexibility and comfort managing small, diverse caseloads with individualized needs Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families Location: Onsite in Aurora, IL (Middle School setting) This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students requiring emotional and behavioral support in a structured educational environment.
