Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide one-on-one support for students within a K12 setting. The role requires working closely with students in Jefferson Parish to deliver tailored instructional services that foster educational growth and development. Location: Kenner, LA Contract Duration: Current School Year (CSY) through May 22, 2026 Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week (7 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch), Monday through Friday following the school calendar Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction and support to students in a 1:1 setting, adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Monitor and document progress, providing regular feedback to the educational team Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning Qualifications: Active, valid Louisiana Department of Education Special Education certification (must not be expired or in renewal) Experience working with K12 students in special education is preferred Ability to start immediately and effectively manage a 1:1 caseload Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams Benefits of this role include the ability to make a direct and meaningful impact on students educational journeys within a supportive district environment.
