Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Position: Resource Room / Special Education Teacher (2 Onsite Openings) Location: Grand Blanc, MI (K-12 School) Contract: 2025-2026 School Year (Approx. 01/26/2026 06/12/2026) Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week This role offers an opportunity to contribute to an urban school district by delivering specialized educational support to students with diverse learning needs. Serving primarily self-contained classrooms with caseloads up to 22 students, the position focuses on creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment across early learning through grade 12. Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized instruction and support in self-contained or resource room settings Design and implement educational plans aligned with IEP goals and Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations Collaborate with families, staff, and specialists to support student growth and development Adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of students with emotional impairment (EI), cognitive impairment (CI), learning disabilities (LD), or related areas Participate in remote interviews and maintain consistent onsite presence during assignment Preferred Qualifications & Experience: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or Learning Disabilities (LD) Endorsement ZA (Early Childhood) is a plus Experience working within urban school settings and familiarity with challenges faced by urban children and families Solid knowledge of MARSE and IDEA federal special education regulations Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a commitment to student-centered teaching Benefits & Work Environment: Full-time schedule conducive to work-life balance Opportunity to impact diverse student populations in a supportive school community Remote interview process providing convenience during hiring Teachers prepared to make a difference in urban education and meet the qualifications are encouraged to apply.
