Special Education Resource Room Teacher 2025-2026 School Year Location: Flint, MI (K-12 School) Duration: January 26, 2026 June 12, 2026 | Full-time, Onsite Contract This opportunity is designed for dedicated Special Education teachers ready to support diverse learners in an urban school setting for the 2025-2026 academic year. The role primarily involves managing self-contained classrooms with caseloads of up to 22 students, spanning Early Learning (Pre-K and up) through K-12 grades. Candidates should be prepared to engage deeply with students, families, and colleagues to foster an inclusive and supportive educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction in resource and self-contained classrooms Manage a caseload that focuses on students with special education needs, primarily learning disabilities or those requiring emotional impairment (EI) and cognitively impaired (CI) supports Collaborate with school staff and families to address academic and social development needs Apply knowledge of Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations to ensure compliance and best practices Provide appropriate interventions and supports tailored to urban students unique challenges and backgrounds Preferred Qualifications: Michigan Teacher Certificate with endorsements in Learning Disabilities (LD), Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or Early Childhood Special Education (MDE endorsement ZA) Experience working in urban school environments and understanding of challenges faced by urban children and families Familiarity with MARSE and IDEA regulations essential for effective delivery of services Full-time availability, with a commitment to onsite teaching hours (35 hours per week) This contract position offers an impactful opportunity to make a difference in an urban educational setting while working with a passionate student population.
