Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Manager
for a permanent, direct-hire role. The organization is open to strong candidates who are willing to obtain an Illinois pharmacist license if not currently licensed in the state. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the central pharmacy and assigned satellite pharmacies
Lead, mentor, and support pharmacists, technicians, supervisors, and coordinators
Manage hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, payroll, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes
Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective medication-use workflows
Oversee automation, ADCs, IV and oral preparation, compounding, carousel operations, and medication distribution
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, Board of Pharmacy standards, and internal policies
Serve as the designated person responsible for USP

compliance as assigned
Partner with nursing and clinical teams to support best practices, medication stewardship, and standardization
Participate in site-level and system-level multidisciplinary committees
Lead and support operational improvements, performance initiatives, and change management efforts
Maintain a culture of patient safety, accountability, fairness, and transparency
Required Qualifications PharmD from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy
Active Illinois Pharmacist license
or
ability to obtain IL licensure within 3 months of hire
Minimum of 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience
Strong leadership, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
Proven ability to manage teams, resolve conflict, and drive initiatives to completion with minimal oversight
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations, automation, and regulatory standards
Proficiency with Epic, Microsoft Office, and pharmacy informatics systems
Reliable attendance and flexibility with scheduling
Preferred Qualifications PGY2 residency in pharmacy
administration/management
or equivalent experience
At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead pharmacy role
Completion of PGY1 and PGY2 (HSPAL) or equivalent experience
Board certification (BCPS, BCIDP, BCCCP, or similar)
Masters degree in business or healthcare administration
