As needed based on operational workflow Position Overview The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing central pharmacy and assigned satellite pharmacy operations. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant medication-use processes while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and trust. The manager serves as a key liaison between frontline staff and pharmacy leadership and plays a vital role in operational excellence, staff development, and change management. This position is best suited for a

who can rebuild trust, manage conflict effectively, and take ownership of initiatives from start to completion with minimal oversight. Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee daily operations of central and satellite inpatient pharmacies
Manage, mentor, and support pharmacists, technicians, supervisors, and coordinators
Oversee hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, payroll, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to support professional growth
Optimize staffing models and workflows including automation, ADCs, IV and oral preparation, compounding, carousel operations, and medication delivery
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, pharmacy policies, and performance standards
Serve as the designated person for USP , , and compliance as assigned
Facilitate operational improvements and support system-wide pharmacy initiatives
Collaborate with nursing, clinical teams, and multidisciplinary committees to support medication safety and best practices
Promote consistency, fairness, accountability, and follow-through across pharmacy operations
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited program
Active Pharmacist license or ability to obtain Illinois licensure within 3 months of hire
Minimum of 5 years of recent, hospital experience
Strong leadership, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
Demonstrated ability to manage change, lead teams, and drive operational improvements
Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, people-first leadership approach
Proficiency with Epic, pharmacy automation systems, and Microsoft Office
Flexible, dependable, and willing to support operations as workflow demands
Preferred Qualifications
PGY2 residency in Pharmacy Administration/Management or equivalent experience
Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 (HSPAL) residencies
Board Certification (e.g., BCPS, BCIDP, BCCCP)
Masters degree in Business or Healthcare Administration
