Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the current school year in a K-12 school located in Gretna, LA. This contract assignment runs from ASAP through May 22, 2026, following the school calendar with 35 hours per week (7 hours daily plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch), Monday through Friday. Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs across K-12 grade levels Collaborate with school staff, families, and support personnel to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual goals Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all district and state regulations regarding special education services Qualifications: Active Louisiana DOE Special Education teaching certification required; candidates must be currently certified and ready for immediate placement Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to develop and execute effective instructional plans for diverse learners Location: Gretna, LA (within the Jefferson Parish school district) Benefits include a structured contract with consistent hours and a supportive environment focused on student success.
