A high school in Gretna, LA is seeking experienced General Education Science teachers for a full-time contract position running through the current school year. This role is ideal for certified educators passionate about fostering scientific understanding in diverse high school students. Candidates must hold an active Louisiana DOE teaching certification; no temporary or alternative certifications will be accepted. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging science instruction aligned with state standards for high school students. Develop lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities. Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes. Maintain a positive and safe classroom environment conducive to learning. Communicate effectively with parents and administration as needed. Adhere to school policies, calendar, and daily schedule, typically 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, Monday through Friday. Qualifications: Active Louisiana DOE certification in General Education Science (no temporary credentials). Proven experience teaching high school science subjects.
