Support roles are available for paraprofessionals serving K-12 students across multiple schools within the Charleston, SC area. These contract positions require dedication to assisting in classrooms with specialized needs, including Low Incidence and Intensive Developmental Support settings. Assignments are full-time through the current school year, offering an opportunity to work closely with students requiring additional academic and developmental support. Locations include: North Charleston area: Positions supporting Low Incidence and Intensive Developmental Support classrooms West Ashley area: Similar supportive roles in specialized classrooms Liberty Hill Academy: One paraprofessional role available Key Responsibilities: Assist classroom teachers by supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those in specialized developmental programs. Facilitate educational activities and behavioral interventions under the guidance of certified teachers. Support the social, emotional, and academic growth of students requiring additional attention. Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment. Collaborate with educators, specialists, and families to enhance student progress. Desired Qualifications: Experience working in educational settings, preferably as a paraprofessional or teaching assistant (0-2 years entry level, with higher pay bands for greater experience). Ability to work effectively with students with special needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and commitment to full-time schedules during the school year contract. Willingness to work on-site within assigned school locations as determined.
