Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school serving students in grades K-5. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide dedicated support to a caseload of 15 students within a Resource Room setting. The position operates from 8:25 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., delivering specialized educational services designed to meet diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with families Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies within the Resource Room environment Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere Desired Qualifications and Experience: Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-5) Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 15 students Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred to enhance communication with students and families Strong organizational and communication skills Location: Waukegan, IL This contract opportunity is ideal for educators committed to making a positive difference in the lives of students with special needs.
