Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing specialized occupational therapy services within K-12 educational settings, this contract position supports students in both dedicated special education classrooms and member district programs. Situated in the Joliet, IL area, the role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse student population requiring tailored therapeutic interventions. Key Responsibilities: Implement individualized occupational therapy assessments and interventions for students with special needs across multiple school environments. Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to develop and monitor student progress. Adapt therapy techniques to meet the unique demands of both specialized classrooms and district-based programs. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with professional and educational standards. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and support academic goals. Desired Qualifications: Current Occupational Therapist certification valid in Illinois. Experience delivering occupational therapy services within K-12 school settings, preferably with students who have special education needs. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, parents, and administrators. Ability to manage caseloads across multiple locations and adapt to varying student needs. Location: Joliet, Illinois (with assignments possibly extending to neighboring districts within the co-operative) Contract Details: Duration: Current School Year (CSY) Position type: Contract, with potential for an additional opening based on program needs Benefits of this role include engaging work within a cooperative educational environment dedicated to supporting diverse learners, fostering professional growth in school-based occupational therapy.
