Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a licensed Special Education teacher to take on a contract role working with high school students in an English Language Arts (ELA) setting. The position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, providing the chance to make a meaningful impact in the academic and social development of students with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities include: Delivering tailored ELA instruction to high school students with special education needs Creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet each student's unique requirements Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accessible learning environments Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly Maintaining clear and consistent communication with students, families, and educational teams Qualifications and experience: Valid Special Education teaching license required Proven ability to teach ELA content effectively to high school students Experience developing and managing IEPs within a high school environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom that supports student growth and achievement Location: Chicago, IL Position type: Contract for the current school year (CSY) Schedule: 37.5 hours per week This role offers an engaging and rewarding teaching experience in an urban high school setting, focused on strengthening literacy skills and supporting learners with special education needs.
