This opportunity is for a licensed Special Education Teacher specializing in English Language Arts (ELA) at the high school level. This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week during the current school year (CSY) in Des Plaines, IL. Responsibilities: Deliver specialized ELA instruction to high school students with diverse learning needs, adapting strategies to accommodate individual education plans (IEPs). Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments and support student success. Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and documented reports consistent with special education regulations. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP planning and parent conferences. Maintain compliance with state education requirements and ensure all paperwork and documentation are completed accurately. Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching license for the state of Illinois. Experience teaching English Language Arts at the high school level to students with special needs. Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and assessment tools. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and students. Commitment to inclusive education and fostering a positive learning environment.
