Antibody and Protein Engineering Platform Head
Innovent Biologics, Palo Alto, California, United States
Antibody and Protein Engineering Platform Head
Responsibilities:
Proficient in the full process of antibody discovery, guiding antibody screening platforms (e.g., hybridoma, single B-cell, display platforms) for antibody selection.
Responsible for antibody and protein engineering modifications, including humanization, affinity maturation, de‑immunization, stability optimization, Fc engineering, and cytokine modifications.
Lead the design and molecular optimization of bispecific and multispecific antibody formats, ensuring expression levels, developability, immunogenicity, and pharmacokinetic properties meet downstream development requirements.
Conduct high‑throughput expression of antibodies and proteins, along with early‑stage developability testing and physicochemical characterization.
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (e.g., functional biology, pharmacology) to advance project progress.
Provide strategic recommendations at internal project reviews and leadership meetings.
Track cutting‑edge technologies (e.g., AI‑assisted antibody discovery, novel antibody development) to continuously optimize and upgrade the R&D platform.
Qualifications:
Education and Major : Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, Genetic Engineering, Bioengineering, Biopharmaceuticals, or related fields.
Professional Knowledge : Expertise in antibody development techniques, including hybridoma, phage/yeast display, molecular cloning, protein expression and purification, and affinity maturation, with a focus on antibody engineering.
Work Experience :
Minimum 10 years of industrial R&D experience in antibody discovery or protein engineering, with a preference for candidates who have successfully led projects to PCC and clinical stages.
Overseas background, especially experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies, is preferred.
Experience in managing teams of 30+ members, with strong adaptability and problem‑solving skills in high‑pressure, fast‑changing environments.
Proficiency in antibody and protein structural analysis, with hands‑on experience in designing and optimizing bispecific and multispecific antibodies.
Deep understanding of antibody structure‑function relationships, sequence optimization, and expression/purification workflows.
Familiarity with antibody developability and immunogenicity assessment, Fc engineering, and half‑life extension strategies.
Skills:
Excellent research capabilities, demonstrated by patents or scientific achievements.
Proficiency in English as a working language.
Other Requirements:
