Restaurant Shift Lead Position Summary: We’re looking for a proactive, dependable Shift Lead to help run smooth, high-energy shifts in our restaurant and bar. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring someone who leads by example and supports the team in both service and operations. Key Responsibilities:
Bar Support: Stock and restock the bar with necessary products before, during, and after service to ensure bartenders and service bars stay efficient.
Food Service Support: Run food to tables, assist servers with guest needs, and help bus, clear, and clean tables to maintain a smooth flow of food service.
Service Bar: Jump behind the service bar when needed to help make drinks (bartending experience is a plus).
Technology Management: Be trained to operate the TV and entertainment system; confidently change channels and adjust inputs as needed.
POS Oversight: Handle discounts, voids, and comps responsibly if no manager is present. Properly document each instance so management can review for accuracy and legitimacy.
Checklists and Handoffs: Complete and oversee the opening and closing checklists, ensuring tasks are fully completed and that the restaurant is clean, stocked, and prepped. Manage shift changes for team members, ensuring smooth and accurate transitions between shifts.
Leadership Presence: Serve as an example on the floor, stepping in wherever needed to keep operations running smoothly and customers happy.
Communicate clearly with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, and escalate issues to management when needed.
Requirements:
Comfortable using and troubleshooting point-of-sale (POS) and audio/visual systems
Reliable, organized, and able to multitask in a high-volume environment
Excellent communicator and team player with a guest-first mentality
Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Bonus Points For:
Bartending or barbacking experience (lead, keyholder, or supervisor experience preferred)
Experience training new team members or supporting new hire onboarding
