In this role, you will assist the classroom teacher in providing essential support to students with special needs, helping promote both academic growth and personal development. Your responsibilities will vary from enhancing regular classroom curriculum to offering one-on-one assistance to individual students.

Substitute paraprofessionals are often referred to as school aides, teacher assistants, instructional aides, one-to-one aides, and personal care assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional support for individual students or small groups to enhance their learning experience.
• Assist the classroom teacher with managing the classroom environment and overall supervision.
• Help with administrative tasks such as preparing materials and setting up classroom equipment.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, in hallways, on field trips, and during before and after school programs.
• Attend to various needs of students, including physical, personal, academic, and emotional support.
• Support students with special needs by adhering to their IEPs/504 Plans as specified.
• Carry out additional duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.

Pay Range: $10-$17/hr
